The presence of the 4 Nations Face-Off gave the NHL what almost felt like two separate trade deadlines this season. A handful of teams scrambled to make moves before the February break, and some were significant.

From the Hurricanes' stunning acquisition of Mikko Rantanen to the Rangers' reunion with J.T. Miller, some business was settled well ahead of the actual March 7 deadline. That didn't mean the action was done.

Deadline day saw Mikko Rantanen and Brad Marchand both on the move, with Rantanen relocating to Dallas after a six-week stint in Carolina and Marchand's 16-year stint in Boston ending with a deal that sent him to the reigning champion Panthers.

In the days leading up to the deadline, Brock Nelson and Seth Jones were among the veterans who found new homes.

The Sporting News is tracking live news and rumors leading up to Friday's NHL trade deadline, along with a full recap of all of the deals completed so far. Follow along with the latest below.
